Before I part #HogsAbroad in Spain

Hello all!

As you can see I'm about to part off to Spain for an entire month and I couldn't be more excited. When I was around 14 or 15 I had always dreamed about going abroad and seeing the world. I had grown up watching my mom travel from country to country at her job through P&G and always said to myself, "I want to see the world like mommy does." She sparked a passion inside of me to be bold, explore, and get out of my comfort zone. I did just that growing up and was privileged enough to embark on many family vacations out of the country. I was able to get a taste and sense of what other parts of the world had to offer. From culture, food, people, and the overall essence of a city or country that I was in. My heart felt full and overflowing with joy when I was somewhere else. I have a passion for people and places, so I truly believe getting to know people and the places they come from is vital to my living experience as a student and young adult.

Spain has been a dream country I have been dying to visit for quite some time. I mean after I saw The Cheetah Girls 2 on Disney Channel when I was young you can imagine I wanted to strut down the street like Raven Symone in Barcelona. I knew that traveling and seeing the world was something I wanted to make a part of my life whenever the timing was right. Well, what better timing than now, a college student with a once in a lifetime opportunity to study Spanish in Spain! I mean I have to knock out that minor and get my degree! Anyway, point being before I leave I want to fully gain a broader understanding of my hispanic heritage, connect with locals, have a higher knowledge of the Spain culture, and become more fluent in my Spanish. I can't wait to keep you all connected in my journey abroad. I hope when you read this blog you can connect with me, feel a sense of hope, and be a part of my greatest adventure. It's crazy to realize that I'm living out my dream as 20 year old. This is all I have ever wanted and I'm humbled to see how I grow within this process. Keep dreaming BIG, and never lose sight of what you want! I promise you will get it eventually!

Muchos besos,
Kalindi
