I actually didn’t make it all the way through the museum because one of my friends texted me asking if I wanted to meet her at this “famous” tea and bakery place. It’s called Peggy Porschen and its known for its sweet treats and photogenic decor.

After we finished there, Megan (friend) wanted to see some of the parks. We walked to Hyde Park, straight into Green Park, popped out at Buckingham Palace, and then popped back in to St James Park on the other side. Between that and the museum and the cake place, it sounds like a lot but everything is literally so close together!

Ok so at this point, the sky is orange. That is not a tint, it is not sunset, the sky was just orange and that is exactly how it looked outside. So here Megan and I are walking through London and its super eerie and the sun is red and you can look straight at it and we both kept thinking this is straight out of a horror movie, we are being gassed or something, just the worst possible conclusions. Turns out, all across Britain, the sky turned this color due to dust from the Sahara being blown up from Hurricane Ophelia which made landfall in Ireland yesterday. Still, it was so weird how a beautiful sunny day with blue skies turned to this within literally a matter of minutes!
After St James Park, we made our way to Piccadilly Circus. It had gotten really cold and windy all of a sudden so I stopped into a place called Whittard Tea to get a drink. It’s very similar to Teavana in the US with its wall full of different kinds of loose leaf teas and lots out to sample as well. The lady that helped me was so nice and helped me figure out what I was in the mood for via lots of tea sampling! I settled on the Piccadilly Blend, which was apparently a customer favorite!
BRITISH LIBRARY
Fast forward to this morning, another day with no class, another day of asking myself what to do today. I decided I needed to do a little bit of studying since after all I’m in school here (so easy to forget ) so the choice to pay a visit to the British Library was a pretty obvious one. As a student at King’s I have free access which is super nice. I did learn however that the “reading rooms” aren’t allowed to be used as study rooms. Since its the biggest library in the world, it has to have some rules, and one of them is that you cant visit the reading rooms unless 1. You register for a pass and 2. You know of the specific book(s) you need to look at and read inside. My next order of business is to figure out a book that would be in those rooms so that I have an excuse to take a peek inside The public study area wasn’t bad at all though, I mean with a view like this.
I can’t wait to go back and visit their Harry Potter Exhibition over a History of Magic which is debuting this Friday!!!
London is just so cool. I love it here.
Thanks for reading!
