Hola! Hello! Bonjour!
What you may not know is that I’m an International Business student with a concentration in Marketing at Sam Walton College of Business, with two minors: Supply Chain Management, and Business French. In order to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in International Business (BSIB) and with two minors, I will have to go to school for another year. Believe me, I’m not that crazy to want to go to school for an extra year.
Being a business major at the U of A has been incredible! I have met genuine, smart, caring, and competitive people; and I have had some of the best professors you can imagine. Since I first stepped a foot on this beautiful campus, I knew this was the place I wanted to call “home.”
What you definitely do not know is that now, as my fourth year of college comes to an end, I’m getting ready to embark on a new adventure–a FULL SUMMER IN EUROPE!!! How cool is that?!?!?!?!?!
During the study abroad fair held on campus a few months ago, I chatted with some representatives from International Studies Abroad (ISA). I applied to their study abroad program for the summer, and I got accepted to it.
Now, in fewer than 3 weeks, I will be traveling to Paris, France. In Paris, I will be attending the American School of Business Paris where I will be taking two upper-level intensive business courses taught in English for five weeks. Then, I will be switching schools to L‘Institut Catholique de Paris where I will be taking two upper-level intensive French courses taught in French for five weeks as well.
Needless to say, I am beyond excited for this new adventure I’m about to immerse myself into. I am also happy and proud to announce I have been blessed with the Global Engagement Office Scholarship from the Sam Walton College of Business AND the Office of Study Abroad Scholarship, both of which will help me pay for my tuition costs.
Lastly, I would like to ask you all to keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I get ready to leave the Natural State and go to Paris. Unfortunately, we live in a cruel and messed up world where thousands of innocent people are killed each day. It saddens me to see such a beautiful and important city get damaged by humans who are filled with hatred.
Oh, one more thing, be on the lookout for more blogs. I will try to post cool (and tasty) pictures of my adventures in Paris, France.
I will for sure be going to Madrid and Barcelona. Please give me some cool recommendations to go to besides Spain! Much love,
Julio Ibarra, Jr.
