Geothermal Wonderland! #HogsAbroad in New Zealand

Today we went and saw Wai-O-Tapu in Rotorua. It was really something else! It had a lot of geothermal activity producing some interesting features such as mud pits and hot springs, all of which are found inside a caldera crater. The bubbling mud pits were very active and we got to see some pretty large bubbles burst. To top it all off, the whole place smelled like sulfur, some of us didn’t mind at all, some really did! Something I was very interested in was the Devil’s Bath, a green pool that is the result of dissolved sulfur mixing with the mineral rich water running off of the hot spring!
