Louisiana Art Museum
This Wednesday I didn’t have a field study tour, so I decided to make the trek out to the Louisiana with a few of my friends. Its about an hour outside of the city, but definitelyworth seeing if you are in the city for an extended time. I am a huge fan of modern art, and the pieces that they had there were incredible, ranging from Picasso to Pollock and many more. Not to mention the fact that the museum was located right next to the ocean, so the scenery was beautiful enough that we did the outside sculpture walk even in the dreary weather. We did end up having to wait an extra hour for the train back, but you live and you learn (and you go to a bakery and get a danish pastry to pass the time). All in all, it was so worth it and such a fun way to spend a no-class-Wednesday.
Nørrebro
Nørrebro is an eclectic neighborhood in CPH, and we decided to spend Saturday exploring it. The urban design there is really cool, it is full of really creative and fun parks and playgrounds. For lunch, we stopped to get some really good middle eastern food, Nørrebro is known for having a lot of immigrants and so it has a lot of good falafel places! Afterwards it started to snow and so we walked along shops in the area and then into the Assistens cemetery, which is known for its walkway and row of trees (apparently people even picnic there in the summer). The snow made it really beautiful, and it’s definitely something I would recommend if you find yourself in CPH for more than a few days!!
To-Do Tuesday
This week, a group of us decided to all get falafel (my new favorite food — it’s kinda a problem), and then go to the Glyptoteket, which is an art museum that is free on Tuesdays. The art was cool, but the building design itself was even cooler. I am learning to appreciate and pay more attention to elements of Danish design, something I didn’t think I would learn about at all before coming here!
Other Highlights:
Our floor held a wine and cheese night on Thursday, which meant we all pretended to be fancy and instead just ate supermarket food that we dressed up to look niiiice. Other than that, it was just a pretty chill week. I’m finally settling down into a routine here, which means that the days are passing quicker even though everyday seems to hold some kind of new adventure, no matter how small.

That’s all for this week! On Thursday, I leave for Hamburg. So, until then.
SEE YA IN HAMBURG
