Why Russia? #HogsAbroad

It's a question many of my friends and family ask when I tell them where I'll be studying abroad (along with 'do you speak Russian' [no] and 'are your classes in Russian' [no]). The simple answer is that, as an upper-level mathematics student, there aren't many study abroad programs that fulfill math degree requirements. Beyond that, however, I chose the Math in Moscow program because I knew that I would grow tremendously from the experience. The vast cultural, educational, and climatic differences between Moscow and Arkansas mean that I will learn how to adapt and compromise. And maybe I also just really wanted to see a lot of snow. Either way, I'm grateful for the opportunity and can't wait to see what happens!
