Office of Study Abroad Thanksgiving Holiday Hours
The Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

2017 Study Abroad Photo Contest Winners on Display in Mullins Library
Congratulations to the winners of our 2017 Study Abroad Photo Contest! 1,100+ students studied abroad in over 40 countries in the 2016-2017 academic year. 450 photos were submitted in 8 categories in this year’s photo contest. The winners of the 2016 and 2017 Study Abroad Photo Contest are currently on display in Mullins Library. And, you can view past photo contest winners in the Mullins Library ScholarWorks@UARK collection.

Info Sessions
Study Abroad Info Session: Advice Before You Go Abroad, Thursday, November 30
JBHT 207, 5:00 pm
This info session will be led by study abroad peer advisor and API Global Leader Miriam Wasserman. Topics will include packing tips, culture shock and the first 24 hours in your host country.

Hogs Abroad 101 Sessions
Center for World Languages: JBHT 207, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Every Tuesday & Wednesday!
Note: there will be no Hogs Abroad 101 Session on Wednesday, November 22 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Learn the study abroad basics – program types, locations, housing options, scholarships, etc. – through these peer-led info sessions. These take place weekly from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the semester. Space is limited to the first 25 students each week, so get there early!

Scholarships & Scholarship Deadlines
Fund for Education Abroad for 2018-2019
Application closes: January 10
Applications for 2018-2019 are now open! The mission of the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the US study abroad population. FEA makes life-changing, international experiences accessible to all by supporting minority, community college, and first-generation college students before, during, and after they participate in education abroad programs. University of Arkansas Study Abroad Scholarships on the Hogs Abroad Portal
Several study abroad scholarships now have their own applications on the Hogs Abroad Portal, so you can manage more of your scholarship applications in one place. Be sure to carefully review deadlines and eligibility criteria for each scholarship at http://studyabroad.uark.edu/funding. If you have any questions about one of these scholarships, refer to the contact information listed on the brochure.

Apply for Your Passport:
If you haven’t already done so, now is a great time to locate your birth certificate and submit a passport application. You can find instructions on how to apply using the following link: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html.

You can also visit U of A Passport Services at pmcs.uark.edu/passport-services/.

And, once you have your passport, be sure to log in to your Hogs Abroad Portal to upload your passport information to your application!
