Barcelona #HogsAbroad in Spain

I’m currently writing this at the airport waiting to board my flight back to Madrid. What a weekend!!! My friends Mallory, Emelia, and I all went to Barcelona for the first time this weekend and had a blast. Last weekend when we went to Grananda we took a bus, but we decided it would be worth it to skip the bus/train and get plane tickets instead (our flight was only an hour long!!!).

We arrived in Barcelona at 9 in the morning and got to our hotel WAY too early, but they kept our bags for us and let us use the restroom to change into our swimsuits for the beach! The beach here is amaaaaaaazing. We stayed there for at least 3-4 hours and then met up to eat with some of Mallory’s friends who were also traveling around Europe.

Later that night we tried some unique vegan food, (Emelia is vegan) and it was pretty good! The next morning we hit up the beach again, this time with a lot more sunscreen, and came back to our hotel for a few hours to nap and take it easy.

We’re lucky because both Emelia and Mallory have friends who have studied in Spain, so we already had a list of places to visit when we got here. One of those places was an amazing and delicious Italian restaurant called De Greco. The food and decorations made you feel like you were in a 5 star restaurant, but it wasn’t even expensive!!

Today was our last day here before going back to school tomorrow and entering finals week. We’ve been able to see La Sagrada Famila from the rooftop pool of our hotel, but  this morning we got to see it up close! It was so beautiful.

We get to Madrid around 9:30 tonight and then I have to work on a group project for class. Wish me luck!!!!
