Some Internship News
I forgot to mention it, but two weeks ago, my boss treated me to a great surprise. She took me with her to a TV station. I went through the whole process with her, getting to visit hair and make-up, and sit in backstage while the show was recorded.
It was an amazing opportunity to see another avenue of communications. I loved getting the opportunity to see how important networking is for this area of business.
National Gallery of Ireland
At the end of the week, on one of my half-days, I visited the National Gallery of Ireland. Essentially, the National Gallery holds paintings and photos from all eras. There were displays that showcased Irish -specific artists, and traced the progression of art through time.

There was also an entire wing of the gallery devoted to Jack B. Yeats, the brother of famous author W.B. Yeats. I found his work fascinating, simply because it was more abstract, less detailed than the typical paintings of the era.

Like most artists and art, I could tell that the Irish art was influenced by circumstances and history. Since Ireland is a country full of history, conflict, and institutional changes, I saw that the art reflected that. Unfortunately, there were strict regulations of what could be photographed. I took as many photos as possible, so please enjoy the ones that I could capture!

The National Gallery of Ireland did not simply feature Irish paintings and Irish artists. In fact, there were many wings that were devoted to tracing the evolution of art throughout the years. Typically, I do not really like walking through art museums, simply because I am not patient enough to appreciate all the art. However, in this museum I really liked the layout. The museum highlighted so many different art styles and artists, that it was easy for me to appreciate the work.

That is all for the moment; however, I did go to Belfast and Northern Ireland over the weekend, so get ready for a bunch of posts about that! Until next time, Cheers!
