We saw so many things that I honestly lost count! BUT my favorite thing that we saw was the Trevi Fountain!! The Trevi Fountain was something that I could have stayed and admired all day long but of course when you only have a couple days to see Rome you must move on to the next site!
Another thing that I enjoyed was the Roman ruins that are in the
heart of the city. The amount of history that is preserved in those
ruins is astonishing and something that I wish the US had more of. I
think it is so great to know who and where your country comes from and
what has shaped it into what it is now! The funniest part of the whole
day was that when we got to the top of the ruins there was an area where
you could look out over it all, well as I was looking the wind took my
hat that I had bought in Venice!! The best part is that I could see it but there was absolutely no way to get to it! At that moment I just had
to sit back and laugh because I would be the girl of the group that
would happen to and I wasn’t the first and certainly not the last!
All in all, this was a great weekend full of great memories and even better food! I wish that Florence had the buildings that Rome had but I loved the size of Florence so much more! It was way more manageable in terms of getting around!
Sorry, this has taken so long for me to get this post completed I was completely exhausted when I got back and the last week I was there was a whirlwind of packing and studying for my final! Be on the lookout for a post all about the food that I ate in Italy and my top Florence recommendations!
