Getting Familiar with Alicante #HogsAbroad in Spain

May 28th we arrived in Alicante and spent the week exploring our new home!! This place is a dream and I cannot believe I get to live here for the next 5 weeks. I’ve already made so many friends and gone on so many hikes/tours around the city. I already feel at home here and the thought of ever leaving this place is truly depressing. The active lifestyle, the fresh food, the cheap shopping, the constant parades and festivities always going on in the streets.. these are just a few reasons why I never want to leave this paradise.

I also have classes Monday-Friday and I’ve already learned so much. My teachers are so cool and incredibly helpful in getting us embedded in the language and culture here. None of my professors speak English in the classroom which was a tough adjustment to make, but forced me pick up on my spanish so much faster. Through this, I've also come to love the Spanish language. I truly think it is such a beautiful language to speak and listen to because there’s so much passion in everything they say and it all rolls off their tongues so effortlessly. I’m obsessed with this city, language, culture, lifestyle, already.
