Accounting for Ireland #HogsAbroad

Hi, my name is Shannon Gordon. I am a senior at the Sam Walton College of Business. I am majoring in Accounting and Information Systems. This summer I will be traveling to Ireland to study abroad with the University of Arkansas Faculty-Led Program called ‘International Business Seminar in Ireland’.

I chose this program because it is highly focused on Accounting and I believe it would be the most impactful on me because it relates to my major. Studying abroad with this program will give me the opportunity to learn more about the history and the life of the people in Ireland while also learning more about my degree.

While studying aboard in Ireland I will earn six credit hours of classes which will be transferred back to the University of Arkansas as upper level business electives. This program requires numerous research as we are required to know about where we are going and also writing a research paper about the history of Ireland. We will also be visiting with different businesses and accounting firms in Ireland. This trip will not only be educational but also fun. I am looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing new things and making memories.
