Today, I was reminded why I chose the field of education for my future career. Scoil
Íde in Limerick was kind enough to allow us into their classrooms to
observe, interact with the students, and even be our guinea pigs for our
lessons! The kids were so excited to have us, and they were so
entertaining to talk with. It was so interesting to see how a school in
Ireland was operated, and compare it to my education in the U.S. It was
also our first time to truly interact and learn about this country with
people living here. We asked just as many questions about Ireland as
they did about the U.S. Some of my favorite questions were "Do you watch
The Ellen Show?" "Do you have 99 Cent stores? I saw them on YouTube."
"Do you see a lot of celebrities where you live?" It was a great first day of school observations, and I can't wait to visit other schools!
