Living in Florence #HogsAbroad in Italy
Well, we are here! Class starts today but I wanted to give y’all a little tour of our apartment! It is the cutest little thing. I’m not sure what I was expecting for living quarters, but when I heard that there was no air conditioning or dryers I was very skeptical but this apartment was so cute and exceeded all expectations.
The water in the shower is either scalding hot or super cold, so the shower and I have a love-hate relationship so far but we are working on it. The wifi is kinda spotty at times but it makes it easy to disconnect from my phone and really enjoy what we are doing and seeing in the city!
We had orientation yesterday and we explored the basics of the city a little bit, so today we are going back to the shopping district to get groceries and maybe window shop a little bit! Of course, we have already found our favorite gelato shop, and the food and pastries are amazing here. I wish that we had more of the bakeries and coffee shops like they have. They don’t have donuts here but the pastries that they have are so much better than any American donut I’ve had (including Voodoo Donuts in Austin) the food here is absolutely amazing no matter what you have so my roommate and I have already started morning runs to help curb the pasta from hitting our hips! amazing no matter what you have so my roommate and I have already started morning runs to help curb the pasta from hitting our hips!
Have any suggestions of things to do, see, or eat while we are here? Leave them in the comments at https://alexamclain.com/living-in-florence/
