Welcome! Thank you for stopping by.
My name is Elizabeth, and I am a sophomore Marketing and Management
major with a Non Profit Studies minor studying at the University of
Arkansas. I graduated from high school in Bentonville, Arkansas;
however, I have lived in Colorado, California and Texas as well. After
graduating from high school in 2014, I took a gap year; I spent nine
months at a Bible school in Winter Park, Colorado called Timberline.
This was one of the best years of my life and definitely instilled in me
a desire to improve the lives of others and travel to other places!
This May-June, I will be traveling to Mozambique on the Faculty Led
Community Development Study Abroad trip. I am looking forward to working
with two non-profits while abroad: OneEgg, an organization that gives
an egg a day to school aged children, and Athiyana, a program which
supports women to make bags to sell in the local community. I am so
eager to get to Mozambique; how exciting that it’s only a month away!
While in Mozambique, my team and I hope to help the women market their
bags to a broader audience and create a system to motivate the women. As
for OneEgg, we will work on setting up social media sites and
potentially creating some marketing materials.
Although we have big
plans for what we will do once we get there, I know there will be
unexpected trials and hurdles to jump over; I look forward to problem
solving and brainstorming our way through these obstacles.
In the Fall, I will be studying at the University of Sussex in
Brighton, England. Because this trip follows Mozambique, I will save the
details for a later time.
Again, thanks for stopping by and check back in soon for pictures and snippets of my travels!
