Work, Play, Work, ect. #HogsAbroad

So, in my last post I mentioned planning, and that theme has continued, but with a bit more acting on it this week.

For starters, I’ve been in contact with my parents for when they’ll visit. Secondly, I’ve been trying to plan for school so that I can actually spend time with them when they get here. Lastly, I’ve been planning the Europe trip I mentioned with those who are going.

Today, we acted on those plans and have bought all our necessary transportation for the trip. Later today, we’ll see if we can book accommodation for all of those places.

Furthermore, I mentioned practicing for a presentation last time. My group was the first to present for the whole class, and we did pretty well for only practicing a few times. We got extremely good feedback from the lecturer, but to be honest I’m not even sure if the presentation counts towards our grade. Either way what he gave us back isn’t an actual grade, but it’s always nice to have a critique of my presenting skills since they’re a weak point for me.

Now, for the fun part: What I’ve been doing when I’m not busy.

This weekend a few of us took a trip to Clacton on Sea, a small beach town.

Turns out the pier was full of amusements such as small roller coasters and bumper cars. When we went it was Sunday, and we all had money in mind so we didn’t actually do any of those things, but it was nice to walk down the beach (despite it being freezing).

Then on Friday this week a girl in our flat had a birthday, so we threw her a surprise party on Thursday night! She didn’t expect it at all, and was really happy! It was also the first time we were able to get a picture with all of us:

Other than that they also have tv’s set up where you can play ps4, xbox one, xbox, wii, ect. The downside is none of this is free, but it’s cheap and we were able to play on the video games much longer than we could ping pong because of a shift change for workers and the place not being very busy. Between myself and the person I took turns with we actually did really well at Call of Duty!

Now I’m off to eat and then try and find hostels then back to studying for a test on Tuesday!

Until next time,
Reed
