I have a final in 2 days over International Trade Theory and an 8
page essay over Sweden’s global economy due tomorrow. But I’m
surviving.
No one likes finals week. There is always way too much to do and no
time to do it. You need 12 hours of sleep to rest your brain from the 12
straight hours of studying you’ve been doing but no one actually gets
the sleep they need during these weeks. The reward felt though after
this week is unbeatable. After the uphill battle of studying for all
your tests and balancing your time between everything, you get to shower
away all the stress and breathe easy again. You get to see the grade
you worked so hard for at the end of the semester and pat yourself on
the back knowing you worked your hardest for this and you did good.
At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. Lucky I have friends
that will go to happy coffee shops with me or sit on a dock by the lake
to work on my essay with me on a beautiful day to help keep my stress
levels down. There is never enough coffee or time to get through finals
week, but you have to find time for happy study breaks that make all the
hard work worth it.
These
classes have definitely pushed me more than I expected. As I’ve said
before, studying in Sweden is very different than studying in Arkansas
or basically any school in the states. But I know that at the end of
this experience I will be a harder worker and have even more drive to
succeed. I’ve been pushed to my limits and broken them because I know I
can continue to work hard. I’m so thankful to be here studying (even
when I have tests I’m dreading).
But at the end of this week, I’ll be on a flight to Italy, so I’m not really complaining.
