Family Visit #HogsAbroad

So, I’ve been away for a while thanks to family visiting school, and taking a short break from everything once our school break started. So, as you’ve probably noticed by now: my family came to visit me! They came at the second to last week of school on a Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. During their time here, we did a lot of walking!

When everyone first arrived I showed them around a bit of the university and then we walked to Wivenhoe, where we ate dinner (as pictured).

The following day, we went into Colchester walked around a bit, did some window shopping, saw the movie “Spotlight”, got two great meals for lunch and dinner.

Not only that but we went to the Castle garden and actually went inside the castle. This was so worth it! Inside was one of the best roman museums in the world (probably), and Rome is always interesting to learn about. If for nothing else, there was a chariot racing game.

Lastly, my parents later went to London, and I joined them on the weekend. During their first day in London, they went to the “Harry Potter” studio Museum, which was a highlight of their trip! We then went to all the major monuments, much of which I had already seen on my previous trip. We even went on a bus tour that went by a lot of them, by using our “London Passes” (Not recommended). Unfortunately, most things my parents wanted to go into were closed or closed by the time we got into them. Had we gone to them in a different order, we might have gotten into more, but it’s in the past. We did however get to go into the Tower of London, Windsor Castle, and into a theatre to see a play. The Tower, and castle were both great with a great guide and guided tour respectively. Unfortunately, the best part of both I couldn’t take picture for all of you. As for the play, it was “Bad Jews” and while it had its moments it was just average.

While my mother was upset about not getting into some things she wanted to, I believe she, my Dad, and sister all had a good time while they were here.

Until next time,
Reed
