At the end of January some friends and I visited Copenhagen for the
weekend. It may have been my third time but I honestly could never get
sick of this city. No matter what there is something to do, something to
see, and especially something to eat. We spent our days
wondering/eating and spent our nights exploring the streets of
Copenhagen with a local as our tour guide.
We took to the streets with two more Canadians with a map in hand but decided that getting lost would be easier.
Let’s just say it worked out well for our bellies.
Shenanigans
were to be expected when you are around Danish Parliment… Or with us.
But why take everything so serious? What’s the fun in that?
A stop on the Nyhavn canal is a must when in Copenhagen. Even if it’s
freezing, sitting outside at one of the many resturants in this area is
one of the coolest people watching spots. We later went in and
talked/busted our guts laughing at our ridiculous stories that we got to
share with new friends.
Of course you will find us dancing the night away where ever we go.
Having locals show you around a city is definitely the best way to
travel.
Our three hour walking tour was well worth the bitter cold. Seeing
Copenhagen and hearing the history of this great city is something
magical.
A stop into the Freetown of Christiania is definitely something to put
on your travel list. It’s a funky area with some great food too.
We ended our weekend in Copenhagen with breakfast at Café Dyrehaven. Eating some of the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had.
I’m lucky I got to establish such a great group of friends and travel
partners so early on into my exchange. I’m looking forward to many more
adventures with these guys!
