From Florence I did a program which provided a bus for transportation as well as a Hostel to stay in, which was really nice not having to plan everything (this being my first weekend trip). Bus ride was about 8 hours but we left at night, thank goodness. Our Hostel looked like every Swiss cottage cute home you have ever thought of. I loved it, even though me and Aia got stuck with the rafter beds and had to climb a ladder every time we needed something.
As for what I did on this trip, you wouldn’t believe me if I didn’t have proof. That’s right, I Paraglided the Swiss Alps. Miki the man was my co pilot, and the money I spent on this was definitely worth it (sorry Dad!). I got to see the entire town of Interlaken (which actually means in between two lakes) so two beautiful lakes and breathtaking mountains as well. Me and Aia also tried night sledding, which is a lot harder than you think it would be. Don’t get me wrong, being high up in a mountain at night where all you can see is a flashing light on the persons sled in front of you is exhilarating; just wish it hadn’t snowed so much so we could have gone a little faster!
Our last day we were able to make a day trip to Zurich (which I thought was the capital but nope!). Zurich is definitely a bigger metropolitan city and not as small town as Interlaken. Tried some great swiss chocolate, and we ended up meeting two awesome girls from Barcelona whom we will be visiting over spring break.
Switzerland, you were good to me. Thanks for making all my photos look amazing (even though they don’t do you justice).
