A Series of Seriously Fortunate and Unfortunate Events: Kolorful København #HogsAbroad

Strap in folks, this one’s a doozie.
Part 1: Kolorful København

Did you know we’ve been saying and spelling it wrong this whole time? I had no idea. My roommate and I hit København October 9th for a few reasons. It was the beginning of fall break and our flight to Milan left from CPH on the 10th so we went for convenience and also Major Lazer was playing that night… my favorite group. You better believe I was gonna be there. So we took a bus (which we almost missed) to the city and poked around town Friday during the day. If you ever visit København, I highly recommend Downtown Copenhagen Hostel. Hands down the nicest hostel I’ve stayed in yet! We visited Nyhavn, the most picturesque Scandinavian setting you’ve ever seen, then grabbed dinner at the cutest little cafe and some ice cream–allegedly the best ice cream in the city according to a friend of mine.

Then, we headed back to the hostel and got ready for MAJOR LAZER!!!!!!! I COULD NOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT. We called an über and headed to the venue fashionably late. If you like the kind of music Major Lazer performs, I highly suggest seeing them in concert. The energy and crowd interaction was incredible. My only complaint was that it was a little short, only about an hour long set. I was a little disappointed how quickly the show passed, but I was so exhausted afterwards I see why they kept it short. It was one of the most energetic and animated shows I’ve ever been to.

PEACE IS THE MISSION

Needless to say, we went back to the hostel and CRASHED. The next day, our friends from school Axel and Berfin joined us in København and we explored even more. We went to virtually every end of the city including Christiania which is the famous autonomous neighborhood in the middle of the city. We saw tons of awesome architecture and monuments as well. Word to the wise, bring gloves, a hat and more than a fleece jacket. København is hella cold, more than Aarhus! But it sure is beautiful; here are some of my favorite pics from our short time there.

Onwards to the airport! CPH > MILANO!
