U of A Info Sessions: The Contest for Criseyde & Medieval England: November 18. The heralds have arrived with tidings that homemade cookies are nigh!  Also, there will be back-to-back information meetings to discuss two study-abroad opportunities during the summer of 2014.  Meredith McKee from the Study-Abroad Office and Professor Bill Quinn (Department of English) will be there to describe both programs in as much detail as possible and answer all questions that we can.  Lindsey Zachary will join us to discuss the England trip (and there may be special guests). And there will be cookies!
Starting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, in Old Main 421, we will discuss the course titled “The Contest for Criseyde” (three credit hours) which will be taught at the University of Arkansas Rome Center during the May Intersession.  It will be an intense study for advanced credit of a very sad (though sexy) story as told by Boccaccio, Chaucer and Shakespeare among others.
Starting at 4:30 p.m., we will discuss the two courses (six credit hours) on “Medieval England” to be taught in England at the University of Durham and at the University of London.  This will be a five-week interdisciplinary introduction to all things medieval with lots of site visits.  Join the few, the proud, the medievalists.

Preparing for a Career in International Development: November 18. Interested in pursuing a career in international development?  Join us on Monday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Honors College Lounge of Ozark Hall for a presentation led by Dr. Ellen Fitzpatrick, director of international programs at the Clinton School of Public Service.

Students in the program – some of them Honors College alumni – are engaging in meaningful projects around the world.
Fitzpatrick earned her doctoral degree in agricultural economics at Michigan State University and teaches international political economy; sustainability and development; and global experiential learning. This event is cosponsored by the Office of Study Abroad and the Honors College.
