We finally made it back to Arkansas late on Saturday
night. It was a very long day of traveling. Our last day in Dangriga was spent
at the park conducting a fair for children. We spent all day playing games and
dancing with kids from several different schools. It was a lot of fun! Everyone
had a great time and it was nice seeing how excited the kids would get when
they won prizes.
Being back in the United States is nice. I like having air
conditioning and being able to not have to wear bug spray, but I know I will
miss the community that we left behind. Luckily we were able to establish new
partnerships that will be carried on for future years.
Anyway, the last bit of
advice for my blog is that you should strongly consider this study abroad trip.
It will show you how to be flexible, caring, and to learn how to interact with
others. It will also allow you to experience the many cultures that thrive in
such a small country. Even if you don't join the Public Health Team,
participating in this program will allow you to meet so many new people and
gain a new perspective on life. Thanks for sharing this experience with me
and.....go razorbacks!
