free country-specific lectures to delve more deeply into the background of the
countries where our students are preparing to study abroad, in an effort to
help them make the most out of their experience abroad. Likely topics
to be addressed include the political, socioeconomic, cultural and community
life of the country, as well as a brief history and any current hot topics in
the region/country. Guest lecturers will come from colleges and
departments across the University of Arkansas campus. International students
and past study abroad students will also be on hand to offer an inside look
at living and studying abroad. All interested students, staff, faculty and

English Teaching
Opportunities While Studying Abroad through USAC in Spain & Italy. Mark your calendars! On Tuesday, April 9 from
3:30-4:30pm in the Office of Study Abroad, Ibon Zamanillo, on-site director for
USAC in Bilbao, Spain, will talk about USAC’s paid English teaching
opportunities at all four USAC program sites in Spain (Bilbao, San Sebastián,
Alicante, and Madrid) and in Viterbo, Italy. USAC has made an agreement with an
association of private schools in the area, so that our students can work as
conversation assistants to English teachers in those schools. Teaching
assignments depend on availability and scheduling restraints and can go from 3
to 6 hours a week (usually 150 to 300 EUR/month but up to 600 EUR/month,
depending on schedule). This is a great opportunity to meet and collaborate
with local people, enhance your working experience and resume, and also earn
money! To RSVP, go to https://www.facebook.com/events/525131084195814/
