Getting A Job in Germany #HogsAbroad

DSC_0697

Hello! My name is Nastassja Thompson and I am a senior double majoring in International Marketing and German at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas but have been in Fayetteville for almost three years now. I am very excited to be traveling to Otterberg, Germany to do a marketing internship at Blumen Ines!

I will have the opportunity to assist with buying as well as merchandising, customer service, and even to learn about main office duties such as billing, accounting, and inventory. I am so thankful to Mr. and Mrs. Edwards for making the George and Charlene Edwards Honors College International Experience Endowment Scholarship possible. Without their generosity, my trip would not be possible. I am also so thankful to the Sam M. Walton College Global Engagement Office and the Honors College for the parts that they played and for all of their help.

I am so excited about doing an internship in Germany because I feel like it is a great way to get experience in my field while also experiencing another culture. I hope to gain some insight in my field as well as how businesses in Germany differ from those in the United States. After I graduate, I hope to work for a company that allows me to gain more international experience and I feel that this is a good step in that direction! I will be sharing my adventures through this blog along the way!
