My name is
Mason White, and I am the new Graduate Assistant for the Department of Study
Abroad here at the University of Arkansas. I am currently pursuing my Master’s
in Public Administration & Nonprofit Studies with an emphasis in
international affairs, and I have Bachelor degrees in English Literature and
Political Science from Texas A&M University.
I am an
Arkansas native, but I love exploring new and faraway places. In college I
spent summers on medical mission trips in Nigeria, studying abroad in Spain,
traveling throughout Western Europe, and working in Senator John Boozman’s
office on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Most recently, I spent summer 2014
working for International Justice Mission, an international human rights NGO
headquartered in DC. During this time, I took an assignment in the Philippines
where I assisted a team of lawyers, investigators, social workers, and
governmental advocates in their efforts to transform the flawed justice system
in Manila.
I greatly
enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures, so please feel
free to say hello the next time you visit the Office of Study Abroad!
