Welcome to Campus! We want to wish everyone a fantastic fall semester! Our “Frequent
Flyer” newsletter will be a great source for the latest deadlines and meetings,
new study abroad programs, scholarship opportunities, representatives visiting
our campus, travel-related tips, and other tidbits of useful information.
Hogs Abroad 101 Sessions. Need a place to start your study abroad? Attend one
of our Hogs Abroad 101 Sessions. The first Hogs Abroad 101 Session of the
semester is at 4pm on Tuesday, August 28th! The info sessions are offered once a week at
4pm throughout the semester on either Tuesday or Wednesday, last about 45
minutes and take place in the Foreign Language Lab, J.B. Hunt room 207. Please check our website calendar (http://studyabroad.uark.edu/Calendars_and_Deadlines.html) for more info & upcoming dates.
Fulbright Scholarship Info Meeting August 23. If you are a U.S. citizen, and are going to be a graduating
senior or a graduate student this year, come learn about the
prestigious Fulbright grant to teach English, study, or conduct research overseas
next year. For more information, visit: http://studyabroad.uark.edu/fulbright. Join us for an info meeting on Thursday, August 23,
from 4:30-5:30pm in Giffels Auditorium, Old Main, to learn more about eligibility
and the application process, and hear from a recently returned scholar.
Gilman Scholarship Info Meetings September 11 &
September 12. Come find out more
about this great study abroad scholarship for Pell-grant-eligible students and
get tips on perfecting your application. The meeting will be held on Tuesday,
September 11, from 3pm-4pm in the Foreign Language Lab, J.B. Hunt room 207. For
those unable to make it to the first meeting, we will be hosting another Gilman
Scholarship the next day as well, Wednesday, September 12, from 4-5pm, also in JBHT
207.
This scholarship is
open to undergraduates who are United States citizens, receiving a Federal Pell
Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad, and
participating in a study abroad program that is no less than 4 weeks. Awards
are generally $3,000 for a summer and $5,000 for a semester/year. For

Annual Study Abroad Fair September 20. Mark your calendars! The annual Study Abroad Fair is
going to be held from 10am-2pm on Thursday, September 20nd in the ARKU
Connections Lounge. Come meet with faculty, past study abroad students and
program representatives. Get information on UA faculty led programs, exchange
programs & approved non-UA programs, scholarships, and other information.
Programs are available for all majors. Start making your dreams a reality!
