China Informational Meeting. Interested in China? Great! We have TRAVEL GRANTS! We will be hosting a meeting about multiple study abroad opportunities and travel grants to China for summer and fall 2011 on Thursday, January 27th from 2 p.m.- 3 p.m. in Old Main 206.
Apply for scholarships! As most UA scholarship deadlines are in early February, now is a great time to start working on applications: http://studyabroad.uark.edu/funding. You may also find it useful to check out Non-UA scholarships since most of their deadlines are coming up as well.
National Security Education Program: Boren Scholarship Deadline. Up to $10,000 for one semester of study (summer grants available to STEM students) For students interested in languages and areas studies - must pursue study of languages, geographic areas and fields of study critical to U.S. National Security; expected to fulfill service requirement with U.S. government upon graduation or termination of studies. Informational Sessions for Spring 2011. Our first information session for Spring 2011 will be held on Tuesday, January 25th from 4 to 4:45 p.m in the Foreign Language Lab, J.B. Hunt 207. Peace Corps Representative on Campus. A representative from Peace Corps will be providing information in front of the Union Food Court on January 25th-27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The representative is also hosting an informational meeting on Thursday the 27th in the Union room 506 from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information visit: http://www.peacecorps.gov/.
Conversation Club Opportunity. Conversation Club is a program designed for International students to improve their conversational English. The groups consist of 3-5 international students led by 2 American students who meet for an hour every week, for eight weeks.
