Only three more days until my flight from DFW
takes off for London where another flight will take off from there to
take me to Copenhagen. The last couple of weeks have progressed like a
paraplegic trying to wade through a pool of knee high maple syrup. I
just want to leave already so that I can get on with the merrymaking in
another country.
So far, packing has not occurred due to the dread of potentially starting and then needing something out of a perfectly manicured suitcase the very next day while I am still at home. However, I did purchase both a new suitcase and backpack to take with me. The old ones have started to show their wrinkles and shredded threads. If I’m going overseas, I’m going to do it with sturdy luggage that won’t potentially regurgitate my underwear all over an airport floor.
One thing about leaving for another country for months is that you have to act like an adult and make calls and appointments before you leave for when you’ll eventually return. I’ve had to work with my orthodontist, my oral surgeon, my doctor, and my apartment officials to straighten out my teeth, my jaw, my pills, and my living space, respectively. Why can’t we live in an age where I don’t have to awkwardly talk to a receptionist whose name I don’t remember about a date that I can’t look at right now because I’m talking to you on my phone which has my calendar on it?
Regardless, I’m still excited to be able to go abroad to Denmark. My mood is simmering right now as I just wait and have my patience tested by time.
