So
this week marks the last week of classes for the fall term. The quality
of education here has made a lasting impression me as a student who
loves seeking new and exciting information. The best class I have had
this semester is my reading and writing poetry class. This class has
pushed my limits in so many ways. It has strengthened my writing not
only with poetry, but with prose as well.
All of my classes have had a
lasting impact on me, but this one takes the cake. I honestly cannot
describe how much I love this class. My poetry has gone from just free
flowing gibberish to something creates a stir within me. The last poem I
wrote for this class was by far my best and favorite poem. I'm putting
it in this post and I hope y'all enjoy it!
Only 12 days until I jump on
that big jet plane and head home! It seems like yesterday I was just
getting off the plane and now my trip is winding down. A big part of me
wishes that this trip would never end. I have loved every minute of it.
The beating against my chest
My heart knocking
reluctantly I open up
We sit and stare
Observing the state we are in
Bruised, battered, and broken
My heart speaks, "Its time."
Two words with great power
In an instant
I know
I open my mouth to speak
but the words never come
My heart gets up
takes my hand
leads me through the door
"Thank you," are the only words
I can manage to say
