Winter Break Hours @ Office of Study Abroad. We will be open from 8am-5pm until December 21st. On Thursday, December 22nd, we will close at 4pm and will return on Tuesday, January 3rd. There are limited advising hours available. Please call to set up an appointment.
Be a Part of the Pals Program! Want to get involved with international students on our campus? Become a pal to a new incoming exchange student this spring! As the Office of Study Abroad & Exchange, we get the opportunity to help the incoming exchange students settle into a comfortable rhythm when they arrive. And, we’re sure you can see the benefit of having someone who knows campus, like yourself, to pick you up from the airport (if possible), take you to Wal-Mart, show you around Dickson St., tell you where to buy cheap(er) textbooks, etc. Well, that’s what we’d like you to do for these students this January!
So, if you’re interested in being a part of this great volunteer opportunity, visit: http://studyabroad.uark.edu/Get_Involved_on_Campus.html and fill out the form and email it back to Laura Moix, lmoix@uark.edu. We’re trying to match our 13 incoming students with you all before January 6, when the students arrive, so if you could have this form back to us before Monday, December 19, that would be great! If you have any questions, please email Laura!
Do you have a passport yet? Now’s the time to get your passport before the summer rush begins. You may apply at: http://travel.state.gov/passport.
Apply for scholarships! As most UA scholarship deadlines for summer/fall/year are in early February, the winter break is a great time to work on applications: http://studyabroad.uark.edu/funding.
